Summer Tragedy

July 7, 2010

Back on June 22nd my 35 y.o. stepson Craig Q was killed in an on-the-job accident. Lynda is shattered; I’m not a whole lot better. We’ve been shown great kindness and support by friends, family, neighbours, and co-workers. I’m off work for the balance of this week helping Lynda tend to Craig’s affairs – we’ve made substantial progress. Life has changed in a fundamental way for us. Say a little prayer & God bless Craig.

  1. Sending cyber hugs

  2. Norm, my deepest condolences to you and Lynda…

  3. I am so sorry, Norm. Sending hugs, prayers, and warm thoughts to you and Lynda.

  4. Irish philosopher and poet John O’Donohue said that a blessing is s circle of light drawn around a person to protect, heal and strengthen. May I draw a circle of light around you with this blessing:

dark is the night you find yourself in
    groping around in grief
    trying to find something
    or someone
    to hang onto

as you sit in this space of no light
    trying to see anything
    that makes sense
    let your eyes adjust
    to the dark

    and then may you see
    me sitting here
    with you
    wordlessly numb
    but here all the same

    may in some small way
    it help you feel
    less alone
    with someone to hang onto
    when you’re weak from sobbing

    let the tears of another
    mingle with yours
    and as the light dawns
    together we will gather
    the salt crystals

    for seasoning
    this bitter serve

  5. Kel, thank for sharing that, its very poignant

  6. God bless Craig, Norm.

    And you and yours

  7. I’m so very sorry to hear.

Take care, be strong. Thinking of you.

  8. Sending you warm thoughts and wishes for healing and hope.

    Take care.

  9. Many thanks to all of you for your kind comments. Much appreciated. N.
